How do I report an issue?

If you are looking to report an issue you're having with The Outer Worlds 2, there are several things you can do that can help before submitting it. 


First thing is to check the The Outer Worlds 2 Community Issue Tracker. If you see that your issue is listed, please feel free to upvote it to bring additional awareness to the team. You will need an Obsidian Account to use upvote issues.


Okay, you've checked the issue tracker and your bug isn't listed. There are two ways to report an issue: you can use the Contact Us button on the Known Issues page, or click the Contact button above this article.


Please include:

  1. Platform (Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC Xbox App/Windows Store, Steam, Battlenet)
  2. A brief summary of the issue.
  3. A screenshot or clip showing the issue.
  4. Detailed steps on how to reproduce the issue.
  5. Save file
    1. Save file location Steam: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\TheOuterWorlds2
  6. Ini File
    1. %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Arkansas\Saved\Config\Windows
  7. Crash DMP if applicable
    1. Crash DMP location PC: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Arkansas\Saved\Crashes
  8. Information on your system specifications. See below.

To save your system information, please for us, press (Window Key + R), Type dxdiag       and press Enter, Click Save All Information and attach the file that is created.


⚠️ Please note: There is information in this file about your computer, including its name, and possibly your username on the computer. Please feel free to open and review the file and delete anything you may be uncomfortable with sharing with us.


If you are unable to get some of the items in these steps, don't worry, we will work with you on getting the details.


The contact form on this support portal allows players to upload images or attach files when sending a message. The maximum file size for any single attachment is 10MB. Players can attach up to 3 images or files per message. 


The Contact Us on the issue tracker allows up to 25mb in attachments.
