Known Issues List **Updated 10/12/2020**

Thank you for playing Grounded! Grounded is currently in Game Preview/Early Access, and as such, unfortunately has a few… bugs, pardon the pun. The team is working hard to update the game often and below are some workarounds that may be helpful. If you find an issue that isn’t listed here, please feel free to Contact Us and include as much information as possible. 


MAJOR

Attempting to build/craft/recycle in the game will cause the game to crash. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated.

There is a known issue with Radeon R series graphics cards and Game Pass PC crashing related to a Direct X 12 error. 
Unfortunately we do not have a resolution for this but we are looking into it and hope to have something soon. In the meantime, you should check to make sure your drivers are all up to date. 

Grounded crashes when loading into a game session. 
Players on Steam report that they can get the game to work on the second or third attempt, so keep trying to see if you can load into the game.  We are currently looking into this issue and are working on it to get everyone into the game playing.

PC players will sometimes crash or freeze while logging into the game. 
Some players have reported that giving the game permissions in their anti-virus has allowed them to bypass this issue. We are continuing to investigate into this to find a resolution. 

Xbox One players are reporting controller delays while playing the game. 
No known workaround at this time, however some players have reported that this could be caused by having more than one controller active while playing. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players on PC are reporting latency issues and high ping while playing multiplayer. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

The feedback system is sometimes causing games to freeze or crash. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Players on Steam are unable to see their friends when joining an online game and, are receiving a hosting error message when attempting to join or host a multiplayer game. 
We have found an issue where some player's system clocks were not lining up with the server clock (in the minutes section), which prevented players from joining online games. You should now see a message appear if this is affecting you, letting you know that you may need to adjust your system clock so that your minutes match that of the host. Other players have also reported that sitting and spamming the "Search in Friends" button to locate their friends games will eventually allow the game to appear so they can join.

Players are experiencing issues joining/hosting multiplayer games. 
One workaround that has been found for players playing on PC is to follow the steps listed here:

Otherwise, we are still working on finding a resolution for this issue.

Some players are finding their saves being set to Day 0 and everything in their game is reset to seem like a New Game. 
There have been some players who mentioned a workaround where they find a save that works and then deleted other saves until they maintained a save list of around 10. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players are reporting crashes when they Alt+Tab or change focus from the game. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Large amounts of ants causing performance issues or the game to crash. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some guest players are finding their progress has been reset when rejoining a multiplayer host game. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players are experiencing an issue where they are attempting to save the game while being in combat, jumping, or other activities where they aren't able to manually save, the game will fail to save the game and delete the previous save.
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated.

Game crashes to the Xbox home screen or to desktop upon launching.
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated.

Some players are reporting that the auto-save feature is not working properly.
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated, more information is needed.

Reports are coming in that players are not able to properly save their game while in the Hedge Lab, nor will the game create an auto-save for them while in this area.
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated, more information is needed.


GENERAL

Sometimes respawning at your lean-to will cause you to spawn under the world. 
Some players have reported that relogging helps them. This issue is still being investigated. 

Controls stop working when going into various menus. 
Some players have mentioned that if another controller is connected, it may be taking over some controls and that turning off the controller may fix the issue. 

Game settings not saving when reentering the game. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some Xbox players report that having more than one controller turned on will sometimes cause them to no longer be able to properly interact with menus. 
You can turn off one of the controllers and then restart your game in order to resolve this. This issue is still being investigated. 

When making smoothies, instead of using a single item in a stack, the smoothie station will use the entire stack.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players have reported that they sometimes fall through the world when joining a friend’s game. 
Sometimes this appears to be a desync issue, and the other players in the game can still see this player who is falling. When this happens, you can sometimes fix this by jumping around or having your friends kill your character if they can see you. This issue is still being investigated. 

Sometimes aphids or water droplets will remain in the air after a grass blade is chopped down. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players have reported that they are unable to complete Daily BURG.L Alchemy quests if the required item has previously been analyzed. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 


WILDLIFE

Insects that fall into the water do not drown.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Grubs appear to spawn on any surface, such as dried leaves near the Oak Tree.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated.

Water Fleas have been leaving the Flooded Area and float above the water.
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated.

Ant eggs no longer stack in inventory.
This change was intentional and is not a bug in the game.

Some spiders have been known to fit inside small areas that they should not be able to enter due to their size. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 


ITEMS/EQUIPMENT/RESOURCES 

Sometimes when shooting an arrow, the game will leave a duplicated arrow in front of the player.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Items can sometimes disappear after putting them on the Armor Dummy or Weapon Rack.  
Some players have mentioned that the items are invisible and that breaking the Armor Dummy or Weapon Rack drops the equipment. 

Some players are reporting that the repair tool is not functioning. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players report that they are not able to properly place a sap collector.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Players report that in multiplayer games, sometimes only the host can see berries.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Some players report that items will not stay in their storage containers.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

Players have reports that sometimes after chopping down a dandelion, they will be able to kick the stems and dandelion tufts up into the air.  
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated. 

When interacting with the Spinning Wheel while using a controller, you are not able to cancel production or retrieve finished items.
Players have reported that holding down the "A" button for a few second will allow you to cancel production or retrieve your finished items from the Spinning Wheel. This issue is still being investigated.


UI

Players report that their save files show a different difficulty setting than what they actually selected and were playing in. 
This is a visual bug and starting up your save should put you in the correct difficulty you selected at the start. This issue is still being investigated. 

Storage containers will sometimes show an open slot available, but players are not able to put items in the slot to fill it. 
There is an issue where storage containers are full but are not showing all of the items in the container. Removing everything from the container, or destroying the container, will allow the player to retrieve all of the items. 

Some players have reported that the haze UI effect remains visible even after leaving the area. 
Exiting and reentering the game usually resolves this issue. However, this issue is still being investigated by the team. 

Some Xbox One and Xbox One S players report that they are experiencing a light shimmer on the sides of their screen. 
No known workaround at this time. This issue is still being investigated.


AUDIO

Voice controls in the game do not turn off.  
Some players report that turning the option to "Always On" and then back to "Never" will fix this. This issue is still being investigated. 

Game audio distorts for some players, adding static to the game or distorting the character voices. 
Relogging into the game may help fix this. This issue is still being investigated. 


COMMON QUESTIONS

Will more languages be included in the game in the future?
Currently we offer localized text for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish in Grounded. As we continue developing the game through this Game Preview / Early Access period, we will adding additional language support periodically so keep an eye out for patch notes for further information.

Will Grounded feature mouse and keyboard support on the Xbox One? 
Currently Grounded does not support mouse and keyboard on the Xbox One. The team is currently looking into this, but we do not have a timeline of when we will be able to include it.
